The second of the finals now saw Ash start on the dirty side of the track in P2. Another good start, during the race Ash managed to take the lead which changed several times. Lap 22 Ash was running 2nd close on the heels of Oliver Hodgeson when Matt Parry collided with Sean Babington and in the resulting melay Andy King threw his drive chain.
The race was yellow flagged so no overtaking - that's how it finished with a procession to the fish line.
Ash said " I was a little disappointed about having to come away without a win. I'm sure I had the pace to take the second final and the win had it not been for the yellow flag. I'm not sure how the championship will all work out now, Parry was black flagged in that second heat and both Sean Babington and Andy King DNF'd. Were just going to have to wait and see how the numbers work out. I was really pleaed with the kart. Considering this is only the third time out competitively on the CRG chassis I think we might be getting somewhere near the optimum set up.
