Ash was out to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza as the guest of Bernie Ecclestone. This trip was awarded to him as a result of his performance in last years Formula Kart Stars Championship.

Ash was accompanied by a number of other karters who were also awarded this very special visit.

Ash said " It was a very special weekend, the weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was electric and the race itself was something else. During the qualifying sessions me and Thanassi Barnicote were thrown in at the deep end with a short interview by Jake Humphrey for the BBC. One minute we were standing there the next we were surrounded by about 4 cameras. It all happened very quickly and was a bit of a blur. They even managed to show a clip of me racing which I didn't see at the time but looked good when I got home and saw the recording.

The race was brilliant, but it was a shame that Louis Hamilton retired just after the start with a broken steering arm. You just can't describe the noise of those engines at the start.

I was also given the opportunity to get down in the pit lane after qualifying and spend some time with one of the teams. It's surprising just how much work goes on in the background to get a particular car and driver out there on the track.

We also got to meet a number of the drivers and get their autographs, again that was fantastic. Its certainly one weekend that I won't forget. The buzz that you get is something else, It makes you want to be a part of it more than ever.

Ash went on to say " I would like to thank Bernie Ecclestone for the fabulous prize he gave to me and the other lads. I would also like to thank Caroline Hoy, Debbie Sellars and everyone else involved for all the hard work they put into making the Formula Kart Stars Championship what it is today."

Although Ash is currently leading the 2010 Formula Kart Stars Championship by fifty one points (taking into account the dropped rounds), there are four more rounds left to race for so it's still there to be won or lost. Ash's clean sweep of six of the eight rounds so far has the other drivers on the back foot, but he won't be resting on his laurels - He will be looking to take the last four rounds the way he started the championship with the first four
