What a great result for Ash at the weeekend. Saturday's practice session saw him returning some blisteringly quick times, so much so that he was bettering some of the senior times
Ash went off in heat one from P3, and very quickly stamped his authority on the race. A smooth confident drive saw him take the chequered flag in first place and also taking fastest lap.
The second heat saw the weather close in but the team was already on the case and the kart was set for the wet. And did it rain during the second heat. Ash was off the grid in 26th place, a number of drivers were caught out by the inclement conditions, and As was soon on the case to capitalise on their mistakes. Ash was able to cleave his way through the field, averaging at least three overtakes per lap throughout the course of the heat. A little cat and mouse for the final position, but the opposition was unable to cope with the pace that Ash was displaying. Again Ash took the chequered flag in 1st setting himself up for a pole position start in the final.

Ash takes the win in the first of his heats
By the time of the final the track had dried somewhat and was now bathed in late afternoon sun. Despite a number of go arounds for the start of the final, Ash was able to dictate the pace of the rolling start. Once away the first few laps had Ash tightly chased until the pace of his driving began to show. Inexorably Ash began to pull away from his nearest rival. A good clean sensible drive saw him come home to take the trophy in 1st place some 11 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Yet again he took the fastest lap.
Now he has set out his stall it is a great confidence boost for his upcoming competions |
