As we predicted the action would be taking place at Rowrah in round 2 of the Mobil Super 1 series, and what an action packed weekend's racing it turned out to be.

In the heat Ash was away on pole position, but a melay on the first lap saw him drop a couple of places. P3 man Edward Brand took advantage, with Daniel Tate who was 6th on the grid also capitalising to take second place, and that's how it stayed for the remaining 9 laps.
Heat 2 - Parry on pole with Ash alongside him on P2, off the rolling start into a disasterous 1st bend where Ash got shunted off the track. He rejoined the hunt in 20th place. A concerted effort and some masterful overtaking saw him across the finish line in 11th place - Ash took consolatuion in recording the fastest lap time of the heat, however not the result he was looking for by any means.
In Final 1 Ash started towards the centre of the pack at P11, not the best place to be. Again the first corner inflicting damage on Ash's position relegating him down to 14th and by the second lap he had slipped even further to 18th. The remaining 19 laps saw a good consistant drive, steadily picking off the competition to take the chequred flag in 9th place picking up two places on his starting position.
All the work put in gave Ash only P8 on the grid for the grand final with Parry on pole. Ash had a small mountain to climb if he was to prevent Parry from pulling away from him on points in the championship table. Again the rolling start into the first bend and more mahem, Ash was able to steer clear of the trouble and take 5 places to take 3rd behind Parry and Albone. Lap three saw Parry make a mistake letting Albone take the lead with Ash close on his exhaust, which is how it remained for the next five laps. On lap eight Ash relieved Albone of the lead, despite Albone's best efforts Ash held the lead for the remaining eleven laps to take the chequered flag and the win by .27 of a second, and just to rub salt in the wound Ash also recorded the fastest lap in the Grand Final.
In the Mobil Super 1 Championship Ash now sits second just behind Parry with only 12 points seperating them. It's all wide open at the moment with everything to race for.
